Located along US Hwy 180 just north of the GET crossing, Alma is a tiny ranching community offering a small general store and adjacent diner, plus a possible lodging option, collectively a welcome stop after a long walk through rugged, remote country. A post office, more lodging, and small store (but currently no regularly open restaurants) are available 4.5 miles south in the charming little village of Glenwood, reachable by hitchhiking or possibly from one of the lodging proprietors, contingent upon stay. Seasonal lodging and dining are also found in the living ghost town of Mogollon, located east of Alma and Glenwood and conveniently accessible via the GET in Segment 20. The beautiful Catwalk Trail along Whitewater Creek is another popular area attraction.
