Services in this scenic, erstwhile Arizona mining town are spread out along US 60, with a few additional businesses--post office, library, Save Money Market, and a couple of eateries--located in the old downtown (Main Street) just to the north, now bypassed by the highway. The renowned Boyce Thompson Desert Arboretum is west of town along US 60, 1-2 miles east of the GET/AZT. Superior's public library offers internet access; this would be a good opportunity for eastbound hikers to make a last-minute effort (much earlier the better actually) to obtain permits to enter Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness, about 85 miles away.
